The Best-Kept 'Secret' for Safe, Double-Digit Income
By Jeff Clark
August 28, 2008

"You're brilliant!" said Benny.

"You look thin. Here, have some more pasta," said Gladys.

My in-laws came over for dinner last night. And those two comments tell you all you need to know about why I married into this family.

I love inviting them to dinner because Gladys always offers to cook. She puts Wolfgang Puck to shame. And Benny always tells the best stories about growing up in Italy. It's like having dinner and a show without the expense.

This time, however, the show was on me.

Midway through dinner, I powered up my laptop computer and showed a rough version of an online seminar I put together on writing covered calls – the single best income-generating opportunity available in the market today. In the "webinar," I explain how to generate 15%-20% per year without taking on much risk.

As I mentioned on Tuesday, I never talk finances with my in-laws. But Benny's desperate phone call from the lobby of his bank required me to break that vow.

Benny is retired and living off the income from his investments. But the bank is only offering about 2% on a CD, and he really doesn't understand the risks of investing in bonds at historically low interest rates. So I had to share with him the world's best "secret" for generating low-risk, double-digit annual income.

I stumbled across this strategy back in 1997, when one of my clients passed away. His widow was desperate for income, but interest rates were so low, she couldn't get much more than 3% on her funds. We experimented and came up with a strategy that generated 15%-20% income off her investments every year until I retired in late 2006.

The strategy is even more valuable today.

Interest rates are still low. So no one is making any money in bonds, or in the bank, or in any sort of fixed-income idea.

And the stock market stinks. It's gone nowhere for eight years. So anyone invested in an index fund is breaking even at best.

But selling covered calls continues to generate big, safe income.

Covered call writing is the single best income-producing strategy ever created. It was true 11 years ago. It's true today. And I bet it will be true 10 years from now. But not many people have heard about it.

My in-laws had never seen the strategy before. Now, after watching my seminar, they're anxious to get started.

You will be, too.

Why Buying a Bond Fund Is a Stupid Idea

How to Make Money – Safely – in a Bear Market

I don't push my trading ideas on anyone. And I don't talk about finances with family and friends. But I've never felt so strongly about the profit potential of any strategy.

If you're not selling covered calls, then you're missing out on the potential for some terrific gains. Please watch the seminar and let me know what you think.

Best regards and good trading,

Jeff Clark

World's Largest Bond Fund Wants Toxic Debt

The Distressed Senior Credit Opportunities Fund will invest in "senior" and "super-senior" securities backed by commercial and residential mortgages, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the fund is private. Senior debt is first to be paid off in a default. Read on...
